Junior Legal Counsel (m/f/d)*

In our division responsible for clients from Continental Europe except for Germany and Iberia, you can expect a dynamic, empowered and collaborative work environment. Our market and client teams develop and execute progressive market and client strategies which are embedded in our strategic pillars traditional reinsurance and business building. By business building we mean new business models, new coverages, international expansions and other interesting opportunities where we as a reinsurer are moving into the primary insurance value chain. We have been concentrating these activities within the division in a dedicated operations team. We are looking for a person who supports legal excellence in our team, both in business building and in traditional reinsurance.

Your job:

• In cooperation with our reinsurance wording experts, you will foster legal excellence within an interdisciplinary and international team of business developers, underwriters, actuaries and product managers
• Consulting in respect of all legal topics related to corporate law / insurance law and regulatory aspects across all markets within our geographical mandate both internally and vis-à-vis clients
• Drafting, reviewing, negotiating and supervising complex contracts in English, German and ideally French language
• Dealing with ad hoc legal requests, conduct project-oriented work and support business initiatives in the long run
• In order to bring you up to speed, we are offering a comprehensive training programme in our core business, traditional reinsurance, as well as in primary insurance. The schedule is completed by social skills, sales and negotiation as well as language trainings. Optionally, we offer financial and non-financial support for further academic training, e.g. for the Executive Master of Insurance at LMU School of Management.

Your profile:

• University degree in law, first and/or second state exam and/or LL.M. in insurance law, commercial law or corporate law
• This is an entry-level position, i.e. no professional experience required
• Strong in communication, customer focus, affinity for developing new and future-oriented solutions together with clients
• Good team player, willing to share and continuously grow own and others’ expertise
• High level of commitment, creative, pragmatic, and solution-focused
• Very good command of written and spoken English and German; good command of French is a plus
• Willingness to travel internationally several times per year
