‘Forschungsgesellschaft für Arbeitsphysiologie und Arbeitsschutz e.V. Dortmund’ (legal entity name) is a research institution institutionally funded by the German Federal Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs and the State of North Rhine-Westphalia. It is the sponsor of ’Leibniz Research Centre for Working Environment and Human Factors at TU Dortmund’ (IfADo). IfADo explores the risks and potentials of modern work in interdisciplinary approaches. We combine the disciplines of Ergonomics, Immunology, Toxicology, Psychology and Neurosciences.
The Department of Ergonomics has a vacancy for a
PhD Student (m/f/d)
to be filled as soon as possible. This is a part-time position (75%), initially limited to 3 years. The qualification goal is a doctorate. If a diploma or master's degree is not yet available, temporary employment as a research assistant may be considered. A flexible project start by arrangement is also possible.
- Scientific work in a project at the interface between work and cognitive psychology
- Investigation of how cognitive performance is related to processing performance and the validity of established questionnaire inventories from work psychology using experimental study designs and measurement methods (e.g. EEG, eye tracker)
- Relating subjective parameters in the context of task performance and various moderators such as general intelligence, ability to concentrate and motivation to objective parameters (EEG, etc.)
- Graduate/Master's degree in psychology, ergonomics, cognitive sciences, or a related field
- Good understanding of complex experimental setups
- Strong interest in basic and applied occupational and cognitive psychological research issues
- Very good knowledge of the English language, good knowledge of German language is desirable but not mandatory
- Very good methodological skills
- Experience in acquisition and analysis of EEG data (not mandatory)
- A part-time position with currently 29,87 hours per week
- Remuneration according to the collective agreement for the public service of the federal states (position value EG 13 TV-L. The classification depends on the collective agreement and personal requirements)
