Occupational Safety Engineer (m/f/d) – Korschenbroich
For our client Sempell, as part of Emerson Automation Solutions, we are looking for an Occupational Safety Engineer (m/f/d) in Korschenbroich/Germany.

In this role you will ensure occupational safety and compliance with the relevant requirements as outlined in the German DGUV regulations as well as in ASiG and ArbSchG. This includes continuous evaluation of the workplace environment including the technical safety aspects of machines and equipment, evaulation of all incidents, development and maintenance of documentation and safety statistics according to German law.
You will act as a consultant for all managers and department leaders and support the EHS-Manager in relevant EHS matters.
Your Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with German relevant legal requirements of occupational safety (Arbeitssicherheit) incl. fire protection
- Support the EHS-Manager in the relevant aspects of health and environmental matters as well as sustainability and waste Management
- Continuously evaluate workplace safety risks
- Conduct risk assessments and prepare safety instructions
- Maintain hazardous materials database
- Maintain PPE-register
- Conduct routine safety walks to identify hazards
- Develop training material and provide training on specific safety topics
- Evaluate and maintain equipment and process safety measures
Your Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, staatl. gepr. Techniker/Industriemeister (m/f/d) or similar education
- Certification in occupational Safety according to German law (Fachkraft für Arbeitssicherheit) or willingness to be trained as such
- 2+ years of experience in mechanical engineering or manufacturing related industry
- Knowledge of general safety policies and procedures such as ISO 9001, 14001, 45001; SCC-P would be a plus
- Self-starter and quick learner
- Strong networking & communication skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail
- Ability to build relationships based on trust and credibility
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Fluent in German and proficient in English
