We are now looking for a new Senior Software Design Engineer to join our operations in the Global Manufacturing Support team in ABB Electrification, Distribution Solutions in Vaasa. In this position, you will be responsible for production testing software development and production maintenance in collaboration with your highly skilled teammates. We are primarily looking for an experienced technical expert with focus on Software Development, but the position can be adjusted based on the selected candidate to also suit more junior experts with some relevant experience and high motivation to develop further. Your responsibilities
- Developing and maintaining test system related software and tools in a global environment
- Implementing production tests for new product families using Labview coding
- Verifying functionality of developed codes with products and test equipment in actual working environment
- Working closely with other functions in the unit, such as R&D, Quality and Operations teams, to support global production
- Collaborating and support other ABB Distribution Automation factories and electronic manufacturing suppliers in a global environment, including possibility to travel when the right level of skills is reached
Your background
- B.Sc. or M.Sc. level degree from a relevant field, such as Electrical engineering, Automation or IT
- Several years of work experience from a global industrial environment, work from especially similar roles or with focus on software are seen as an advantage
- Knowledge on and previous experience with Labview programming, all other programming languages are considered a strong advantage
- Good problem solving skills and ability to learn and adapt to new things swiftly
- Good communication and collaboration skills
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken, Finnish is considered an advantage
- Knowledge of electronics or production testing and embedded electronics are seen as a benefit
