Smart Energy Systems Control approaches for the operation of local energy communities, renewable energy applications, micro-grid’s components, integration of vehicle-to-grid (V2G) services and optimization modelling

The objective is to propose decentralized and distributed control approaches specifically conceived for the coordination of power outputs of renewable energy production units, storage units and consumption. The main focus of the activities has been oriented to the modelling and operative optimization of Local Energy Communities.

The main objective of the research visit was the study of the Model Predictive Control (MPC) theory, in order to implement operational scheduling approaches for local energy systems consisting of distributed generating units, energy storage systems, and loads.

Support to the research activities carried out at the Institute for Energy Efficiency in Production. Some of the relevant topics were the identification of opportunities to improve efficiency and load management in industrial applications, production planning and control, as well as, demand side management approaches, considering the integration of energy-oriented sensor technology and renewable energy generation.

Planning and developing projects in risk analysis, business process improvement, follow-on reviews of internal audit, and acquisitions (Due Diligence). Provision of high-quality services, aligned with international standards and practices, aimed at satisfying the need of customers from different industrial and economic sectors. Especially in the Energy & Resources industry, with additional expertise in processes related to the financial sector.

Monitoring requirements for customers in the field of applied technology, from survey & development of solutions in programming tools and quality testing.
