Claire McNamara

I relocated to Berlin in June 2016 with my German-born partner. I have been studying German and have recently completed Level B2.2 I have also been taking the opportunity to travel, whilst continuing to manage small sourcing projects for a key client in Australia through my company, The Acorn Partnership.

I undertook a short term contract at Telstra, prior to my relocation to Germany, working with the largest division of the business to source, attract and engage high calibre candidates across a range of functions and disciplines.

While at Allens, I worked on the development and improvement of sourcing strategies, whilst managing the full cycle of recruitment for all areas of the firm across two of the four office locations. A large part of my role involved building external talent communities and mapping the external market to source candidates. I designed LinkedIn training materials and reviewed and realigned the employee referral program, the reference check process and the firm's interview guides.

In mid-2006 I was approached by the SR Group, a boutique recruitment firm, to join their HR recruitment brand. I was initially responsible for the recruitment of all levels of HR generalists and specialists across financial and professional services, but latterly narrowed my market to focus on more senior level appointments within these sectors.

Having completed almost 12 months of travel in the UK and Europe, I secured a position as a Recruitment Consultant with Michael Page International. Located in London, Michael Page had recently established a team of consultants to recruit across all areas of Human Resources. After 5 years overseas, I made the decision to return to Australia. Michael Page offered me a relocation package to their offices in Sydney.
