Daniela Mariotti

I advise clients on all matters relating to international competition law, including compliance and merger control.

During this time, I worked as a competition lawyer at one of South Africa's premier law firms, Bowman Gilfillan, providing merger control advice to clients, advocating for merger clearance from the South African competition authorities. In addition, I provide clients with advice regarding restrictive practices, such as cartels; I conducted compliance audits in respect of clients’ internal processes, practices and policies, and I provided competition law compliance training for business personnel.

While at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer LLP, I was involved in a number of international merger transactions in which I conducted multi-jurisdictional merger analyses and coordinated multi-jurisdictional merger filings. I was also involved in the notification of a Phase I merger to the European Commission in terms of Regulation (EC) 139/2004. Finally, I advised clients on compliance with African competition law.
