Interessen

What am I not interested in? I was close with my grandmother - who taught me the details of her antique glassware collection. Subsequently I became interested in Art Pottery
and I have a small collection including some nice Van Briggle pieces. I am interested in music
of all kinds: particularly American roots and regional styles
like the blues
jazz
tex-mex. But I also listen to classical music
especially the French romantics (DeBussy)
and Bach and his contemporaries. After attending my brother's wedding in Edinburg
Scotland - now some 17 years ago
I toured Scotland by car and came away with a taste for
and an appreciation of
the regional single malt whisky. I read and write poetry
of a sort. And
oh yes
I also love to hike. I am a member of the Appalachian Mountain Club
and I have led many group trips into the White Mountains of New Hampshire - including a special occasion a few years back in which I organized a three-day adventure for 35 close friends and family at the Carter Notch Hut (a hut which was then 'self service'
meaning that while it had a full kitchen
solar powered refrigerator and the like - we had to carry up all of the food). Luckily our group included a chef
and we ate in high style at high altitude. I am also a trained Barista
and a bad saxophone player (I just started taking lessons
spurred on by my talented 9-year old son).
