- Detailed FE investigation using Cohesive Zone Modelling to calculate the out-of-plane properties and failure predictions of Ultra Thick Laminates. - Validation of FE investigation with empirical test data from modified ARCAN test rig. - Produced Ultra Thick Laminates for test samples using Resin Transfer Moulding. - Applying the findings of the out-of-plane investigation to an aluminium component of a passenger aircraft, so that it could be replaced with a composite.
