My role was to remove cost from current products through improved design. Under the supervision of my manager, I was responsible for every stage of the re-design process, including: Creating new cost-saving ideas, designing & modelling them using CAD, sourcing quotes, making prototypes, creating presentations & spreadsheets for management outlining the new designs and savings, before finally sending drawings off for manufacture. I worked on 6 cost-saving projects and saved the company £653k pa.
