I provide strategic leadership to the Design & Engineering function to oversee delivery of new IHG-branded hotels across all brands in Europe for managed and franchised hotels. The Design and Engineering team provide bespoke advisory services to IHG hotel owners and developers to ensure that all new and existing IHG hotels deliver on the IHG brand promise.

Miguel Ruano Associates was my own consulting firm, offering to my clients more than 30 years experience of global real estate development and design projects, with a major focus on mixed-use and hospitality. Equipped with an owner’s/investor’s perspective and a cross-cultural, multidisciplinary, team-orientated approach, I provided bespoke advisory services on project development strategy and project conceptualization; masterplanning and architectural design; design, project and construction management.

Identification, conceptualization and acquisition of new resort development opportunities, including joint-ventures; securing internal and external approvals for all new projects and their corresponding business plans in the EMEA region; and overseeing the execution of approved business plans for each resort. I worked on projects in Mallorca, Costa del Sol, Turkey, Costa Blanca, Morocco, Paris, London, Dubai, Tuscany, the Algarve, Montenegro, the French, Swiss and Austrian Alps, Egypt, Croatia, Greece, etc.
