Rauf's career started in the MoF in Azerbaijan where he contributed to establishing of the Central Treasury. The range of Rauf's assignments at IsDB and EBRD introduced him to the fundamentals of financing for development and impact assessment. During his tenure with Dubai's DED, Rauf's team developed Dubai Strategic Plan. In addition, Rauf was the Innovation Theme Leader and member of the Economic Policy Committee. While with PwC, Rauf advised clients in GCC, US, and Scandinavia on ways of improving performance. In addition, Rauf developed the Public Sector Innovation Model. While with Qatar 2022 SC, Rauf developed the Innovation and Sustainability strategies as well as Private Sector Devt strategy. Rauf's current role with QDB focuses on promoting entrepreneurship. Rauf was one of the founding members and VP of AIESEC-Azerbaijan. While at Harvard, Rauf was elected to the Student Govt and received Eric Yankah Book award. Rauf served as Advisor with Harvard Innovation Lab.
