Über mich
I am a liveaboard sailor and filmmaker. I plan to sail to interesting places, find innovative people in the marine environmental sector, and tell intentional stories about the problems they solve. Videos that fail generally do so because they lack a strong story that attracts, engages, and retains attention. Research shows that Character Identification and Narrative Transportation are two vital components of stories more likely to have an impact and change minds. My storyfinding and creative development process is science-based. It starts by identifying a purpose, then it finds a character with a strong desire who runs into a conflict. Audiences ask what happens next. They are taken on a journey of trial and error as the Main Character heads to resolution. The process is designed to ensure that the truth being told is from the most useful perspective. Desire, Conflict, Resolution - the core of a story that makes an argument for the solution to a problem. Every business wants this.

Ran away from TV to the sea. Spent a number of years racing yachts, working at the University of Southampton and becoming a lead auditor for ISO9001 and 14001. Had a brilliant time learning all sorts of stuff and travelling. This era formed my desire for constant education and also showed me how to take control of it. I was so lucky to have this time and to have lived this way. It has entirely re-inspired me about my first career.
