As a cyber security analyst at a progressive SOC, I specialize in threat detection and response, actively identifying internal to external C2 channels and IoCs. I utilize a wide range of open source and commerical tools to uncover active threats. My role extends to consulting clients with IT and Network Security Best Practices, onboarding new customers, and providing 2nd level support, ensuring seamless transitions and robust security and detection.

I joined the Cyber Defense Operation Center team in 2018 and was fortunate enough to experience the professional and driven environment of a growing Data Center and Managed Service Provider. The initial scope of the role was expanded to take on greater responsibility within the team where I was given the chance to develop my technical and communicative skillset involved with network security, traffic management, support cases and helping onboard new managed service customers.

A further in-depth delve into computer networking which allowed me to access high-level concepts of infrastructure design and implementation using a wide variety of technologies in both LAN and WAN environment. The course also allowed me to complete the final semesters of my CCNA qualification and introduced me to fundamentals of ITIL, ISO and PRINCE qualifications to assist in my professional career.

An exceptionally hands-on approach to learning setting up and maintaining network switches, routers, servers, workstations and how to support them with live client interaction. In addition, Ethical Hacking and IT Forensics combined with Data Recovery was included in the Security side of the Course. Object Orientated Programming using MySQL and Java were also a key part of the course to develop my project for the graded unit.
