Currently working on the development of complete inverter and drivetrain system of EVs. Responsible for the HV/LV power supply from circuit design to testing phase, as per the defined HW requirements. Also, part of the job is to review Worst-Case calculations, supervise layout design, troubleshoot issues & make appropriate circuit/component changes (also as Design-To-Cost measures). Also worked on implementation of Type-II compensator for the control of DC link active discharge circuit.

Worked on Master Thesis related to high frequency current measurement in Wide Band Gap devices (SiC & GaN). Following tasks were part of my work: • Finding high bandwidth current measurement techniques and devices. • Designing and fabricating Double Pulse test board setups to assess the performance of each device. • Choose a solution to be used for SMA inverters with minimal insertion impedance and minimal change to the circuitry.

Internship related to hardware development, in Power Electronics Development (PED) department. My task was to develop a cost-effective electronic solution to mimic a manual DC switch. Tasks performed: • Developed a custom solution to meet the demand; created a hybrid AC relay/IGBT switch. • Circuit designing of the hybrid switch topology and its auxiliaries. • Circuit & thermal model simulations. • Component selection & BOM preparation. • FMEA analysis. • Schematic capture & PCB layout design.

Analyzed the series and parallel resonant circuit topologies of a bi-directional dual active full-bridge resonant converter for wireless power transfer. Developed a simple control technique based on approximate model of the system for controlling the phase shift between the primary and secondary converters.

My tasks included: • Preparation of circuit boards. • Support of wire harness installation in prototype aircraft. • Preparation, execution and evaluation of Lithium ion cell abuse tests and potential battery structure material tests. • Design of high voltage engine test bench electrical setup, including lab high power supply network, contactors, emergency stop provision, and preparation of bill of materials. • Design, development and testing of DC/DC converter board for up to 800 Vdc.

Worked on implementation of OPC UA communication protocol in the software developed by Fortiss. OPC UA is an industrial standard which can enable platform and vendor independent communication of devices. Studied the specifications & requirements of OPC UA protocol and integrated the OPC UA stack in the software code

o Prepared detailed single line diagrams of complete electrical distribution system. o Performed voltage drop, cable de-rating, load and short circuit calculations for selection of circuit breakers, motor starters and cables/busbars complying with NEC and other industry standards. o Scrutinized & analyzed bids. Prepared documentation for tenders & bill of materials for procurement of LV/MV switchgears, transformers, diesel engines etc. o Coordinated with other consultants, site supervisors & contractors.

During the seven month period, worked as an Electrical engineer while taking care of all safety aspects of the work site. o Supervised 11kV underground cable installation activity including cable testing and cable termination at substations. o Managed all NOCs and permits from different government authorities and utility companies. Prepared reports like Daily Activity reports, Risk Assessment reports, Corrective and Preventive Action Reports etc.

Created a simplified network topology of an entire dairy plant for factory technicians using MS Visio by analyzing service manuals and plant blueprints. Incorporated all the uplink & downlink connections (including EtherNet, DeviceNet and ProfiBus) between the HMI PCs, dairy unit PLCs, VFDs and I/O modules.

Got first exposure to an industrial plant. Got acquainted with power distribution networks (Single Line diagrams), engineering drawings and synchronized operation of Gas Turbines for power generation.
