The creep wave formulations originally intended to be applied to a Hertzian dipole radiation at the surface of lossy sphere is re-investigated for BAN (Body Area Network) channel modeling. The human torso is modeled as a dielectric or perfect electric conducting cylinder dependent on the investigated frequency. The main target aims at determining the propagation attenuation rate, which is important for BAN link budget calculation.

Microwave, millimeter-wave and optical antennas/filters were investigated for wireless power transfer and local area network applications. Several novel antenna/filter structures were proposed. Simulation tools, such as CST, HFSS and Lumerical, are heavily involved to simulate antenna/filter structures. Extensive cross-validation between various tools was conducted. I was also responsible to maintain an in-house scientific electromagnetic simulation tool GUI (C++/C/Matlab/Octave).

A 3D current visualization tool (C++/QT 3/OpenGL) was implemented for data visualization. Some regression machine ( Gaussian Kernel) learning techniques were investigated for optimization acceleration.
